Flood Map Modernization Program
FEMA Region II
The
National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) is administered by the
Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) within the United States
Department of Homeland Security. FEMA and its partners develop and provide flood
hazard data and maps in support of the NFIP. To update these flood maps, known
as Flood Insurance Rate Maps, FEMA has undertaken a comprehensive effort called
Map
Modernization
(Map Mod).
The
Regional Management Center 2 (RMC 2) office
of Michael Baker Engineering,
Inc. provides management and technical support to
FEMA Region II and its partners to help implement Map Mod in Region II. As
part of this effort, RMC 2 is conducting flood mapping related outreach
activities for the states of New York, New Jersey, Puerto Rico and US Virgin
Islands. This web site was established to provide public access to
information about these outreach activities.
